How It Works
The process of getting a website up and running has two main components. First the pages of your website must be created - this is the design part of the process. Second your website needs to be put on the World Wide Web. Through a collaboration with Robert Rickover of The Complete Guide to the Alexander Technique Imogen is able to offer you both parts of this process.
Website Design
Imogen is offering three basic design layouts for multi-page websites for you to choose from. You can customize each layout with colors, headings, links, graphics, photos, etc. To help you understand the design process, Imogen has provided a Step by Step Guide to Your Website Design in a printable format, which gives the details of all your design choices, and what information you will need to provide. Imogen also offers website maintenance services so your site can be kept up to date.
Getting your Site onto the Web
Once your website has been designed, it actually has to be put on the World Wide Web so other people can visit it. To do this you need rent space with a "web host" - simply, a computer with a permanent, open-to-the-public connection to the Internet's World Wide Web. Through The Complete Guide to the Alexander Technique website Robert Rickover hosts other sites for a low annual fee, and has agreed to host any Alexander Technique websites designed by Imogen. This means you do not need to find your own web host, and we can take care of the whole process for you. Once you have approved the final version of your website, Imogen will transfer the files directly to Robert, who will post your new website at your web address - www.alexandertechnique.com/YOURNAME. If you prefer to have your own individual web address (or "domain name"), e.g. www.YOURNAME.com, Robert can also set this up for you for a slightly higher fee.
