About Imogen
Background & Qualifications
Imogen is a fully qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique. In order to qualify she successfully completed a three-year training course at the Alexander Technique Training Centre (ATTiC) in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has been certified to teach the Alexander Technique by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). AmSAT is the largest professional association of certified Alexander Technique teachers in the United States and establishes and maintains the nation's highest standards for teacher training, certification and membership. Since January 2009 Imogen has been part of the news team of AmSAT's professional journal, AmSAT News, working on layout.
For many years Imogen suffered from chronic neck pain and headaches. The Alexander Technique provided a practical solution for her problems which were undoubtedly caused by unconscious and habitual patterns of excess muscular tension. She now has strategies to identify and avoid these destructive patterns of tension, and benefits not only from increased freedom from pain, but also from more energy and enjoyment of life. After completing her certification as an Alexander Technique teacher in June 2006, Imogen moved with her family to Wilmington, Delaware. She enjoys the opportunity to introduce the benefits of the Alexander Technique to a wide variety of people. In addition to teaching the Alexander Technique, Imogen designs websites for other Alexander Technique teachers - see www.alexandertechniquewebsites.com for more information.
